Making Maccheroni Pasta with my aunt
Cooking with my aunt is always a gift. She is 89, this year she will turn 90 and every day I think that perhaps these are the last years of her life… This is also the reason why I like to have cooking classes with her, in San Gusmè. I strongly believe that an experience like this it is a one-in-a life-time-experience! I don’t mean this as a way to convince you to try, but because I deeply believe that there are few women in Tuscany like her …her energy, her way of cooking and her symphaty . She loves sharing with people her life, that is sad in a way, but full of hope and optimism. These are some pictures of her and I making “Maccheroni” that are a shape of pasta similar to “Tagliatelle” but cut wider. To make this shape you can only use a knife and your hands, never the pasta machine. Decide the widest and the thickness is up to you! Come and see for yourself !
