Podere Collalto
“Podere” means “farm” in Italian, while “Collalto” means “high hill”.
The land is in the Chianti DOCG region. Behind this Farm there is a great story about war, Italian and Amercan wedding, sons, nephews and friends from 1944 up to now. In a sunny and clear end-of-summer day, I had the opportunity to have a cooking class with two friendly, fun and social groups of family friends from USA. They all have been so interested in the preparation of their lunch asking me the reason why we use some ingredients instead of others and very curious about the hardest way to prepare tagliatelle pasta! Stuart and his wife were very gently and nice to me, they wanted their friends had fun and they were so attentive. David their son, was so nice too and a fun-lover. I really enjoyed playing pasta with him …I think it was my first “pasta-hug” ever!
After having share the lunch with them I was accompanied by a sweet lady to visit the Villa and she explained to me the Villa’s story, an interesting and engaging story that I suggest you to read… http://poderecollalto.com/poderecollalto/Welcome.html
